To tie in with national Volunteers’ Week, there will be a ‘Volunteer Showcase’ on Wednesday 5th June 10am-12pm at Sherburn and Villages Community Library, LS25 6EA.
Organised by Sherburn and Villages Community Trust, local groups and charities will be on-hand to explain what volunteering opportunities are available, and a chance to chat to existing volunteers to learn more.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, help the community, share your skills or learn new ones. There’s lots of options from front-of house to back-office support, regular schedules or helping every now and then in between work and other commitments. So many local services – such as Sherburn Library or the cinema at the Old Girls’ School Community Centre – simply would not operate without volunteers.
A listing of organisations and volunteering options will also be collated and available from the library, for anyone unable to attend the event. Contact: sherburn.library@siect.uk
