We have been working along with Sherburn in Elmet Town Council volunteers to spruce up the Pocket Park (next to Sherburn Library) so we can do some pop-up outdoor events over the summer months.
While doing work on it we have spoken with lots of lovely people and we hope it will be an enjoyed community space.
Fancy a game of outdoor chess? Pop along to the Pocket Park between 6 – 7.30pm on Wednesday 22nd July to have a go with our large set!

We’ll also be running a free wellbeing walk, which leaves the library at 6pm and should return by 7pm.
Would you like to share your love of the game with others? If you are interested in volunteering to get people playing outdoor chess please email our Outreach and Partnerships Officer – alison.marshall@siect.uk
