Green Skills: An amenity horticulture and grounds maintenance course for unemployed people in the Selby District, North Yorkshire.

Groundwork Yorkshire has been commissioned by The Firethorn Trust to deliver an innovative green skills training programme for unemployed adults aged 18 years plus from the Selby District.

The programme will run for 6 weeks, 1 day a week on 5, 12, 19, 26 September and 3, 10 October 2022. It is totally free to participants.
Learners will work towards a Horticultural level 1 Certificate and a CSCS card. We will pay for public transport costs to site and will provide each learner with lunch for the days on site. On completion of the course each learner will also receive a £50 Tesco voucher.

Learners will need to get themselves to the Old Girls School Community Centre, Kirkgate, Sherburn in Elmet LS25 6BL.

Our working day will be 9 am – 3 pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

We will provide appropriate PPE though learners will need to dress appropriately, in layers, for outside working.
