Plot Summary: When people in Littlehampton, including conservative local Edith Swan (played by Olivia Colman), begin to receive letters full of hilarious profanities, rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (played by Jessie Buckley) is charged with the crime. Suspecting that something is amiss, the town’s women take matters into their own hands and launch an investigation. As the scandal unfolds, the anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, leading to a trial. However, as the women dig deeper, they begin to question whether Rose is truly the culprit. Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, this riotous mystery comedy sheds light on the absurdity of the situation and the power of community bonds.
