Book on TicketSource now: Jesmonite workshop (morning) at The Old Girls’ School Community Centre event tickets from TicketSource

Make your own Jesmonite Christmas table and tree decorations – 2 Candlestick holders, 1 medium pot or vase and 2 Christmas tree decorations.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO BE DOING?
In this 2-hour workshop you will be taught step by step, with demos showing how to create five individual Jesmonite Christmas home decorations:

  • Two candlestick holders
  • A medium pot for a pillar candle/Christmas plant OR a wiggly bud vase (your choice)
  • Two Christmas tree decorations.

Your pot/vase and candlestick holders could form part of your Christmas dinner table setting – and they also look great on the mantlepiece!

You can literally use any colour combinations, and go glitzy with gold or silver foil, understated with gold or silver pigment powder and terrazzo chips, or muted with your favourite Christmas colours – it’s up to you!

First, you will practice techniques on two small Christmas tree decorations, then you’ll move onto the candlestick holders and pot, using marbling, block colour and terrazzo effects.
The pot measures 8cm high x 8cm diameter.

All materials for each process are provided so you don’t have to bring anything other than yourself & potentially an apron/large shirt if you want to keep your clothes clean – Jesmonite washes out in the washing machine but it can be a messy process and if you have plans after the workshop you may want to avoid the temporary marks! Best of all, because Jesmonite is quick to set, you will be able to take your creations home with you at the end of the workshop!

Accompanied children welcome.

Workshop starts at 10:30am and last about 2 hours. There is another session at 2pm. Booking page.

We have parking at the rear of the building. Café 1876 should be open if you want to stay for lunch.

WHAT IS JESMONITE?
Jesmonite is a non-toxic, eco-friendly, water-based resin used to create many kinds of decorative homeware, art, furniture & more! It comes as a two-part separated mix of powder & liquid which at 1-2.5 ratio is mixed together to form a milky mixture. Naturally Jesmonite has an off-white colour to it, so coloured pigments are used to give tone and hue to the mixture which is then poured into silicone moulds, where it cures and becomes a beautifully, unique item!

You’ll be sent an e-ticket for each person, so you can print and pass on. You can also order as separate transactions if you prefer if you want to forward just the booking email.
